Marine Navajo Code talkers
I’ve been trying for months to write a post that could convey my sincere admiration for the Code Talkers of WWII. A nation of people who had no reason to want to fight for the country that had, not too long ago at the time, taken their land from them and decided where they were to live. A country who had deceived them and caused them great suffering. These people saw the value in fighting for freedom and rose up to the occation. Even after the war was won, in no small part due to their actions, they received hardly any rewards or acclaim. They couldn’t, the world was still unstable and their missions had to be classified. Their situation didn’t improve much. after the war. Much has been said about the Japanese-Americans who were put into internment camps during WWII, but not much was said about the people who had been in camps since the white man came to America and made the land his own. The movie “Windtalkers” dramatized much of their actions, but still managed to make Nic Cage the hero. In my eyes, they didn’t owe the United States anything.

Like I said, I’ve been trying for months to write a post that could pay tribute to the heroic Code Talkers of WWII but I haven’t found the right words. I can’t find the words. I’ll have to let their actions speak for themselves.
