komo news | Fred Hutch Center Gets $15 Million Gift
Holy cow. It’s not every day your place of work gets a $15 million donation from an individual.
Here’s to hoping something cool pops up in my random top 10.
From a random iTunes shuffle (entire library)?

Saca tu Mujer - Tito Puente
Blast - Gary Hoey
Lullaby of Birdland - Sara Vaughan
The Spirit of Radio - Rush

Kim and I are back from Houston. The Meetings went great. Had a lot of fun hanging out with the in-laws. Got my cajun and BBQ fix. Pictures exist somewhere. No iPod shuffles in Houston either.
Does a Kansas boy proud.
But how in the heck is KU still only the #2 team? Who has Illinois played? One ranked team? The #18 ranked team at that? Look at the KU schedule. They’ve beaten two top ten ranked teams. The front page of Yahoo Sports is talking about North Carolina being the #1 […]
I don’t kow about down south yet, but we got a lot of snow up in north Seattle. Here’s some pictures of the snow in our backyard.

ARGH, my alma mater lost tonight and are now 9-1. Still considering their .500 record two years ago, being one of eight teams that were still undefeated is great. They are still leading the Missouri Valley conference.

I am typing this in a fit of rage that will have an everlasting impact on my opinion of Sears. My husband and I bought a dishwasher from your Shorline, WA store only to return it 3 weeks later and start over again. The dishwasher never worked, we waited 5 1/2 […]
Yahoo! News - Ski For $15 At Angel Fire
They are already skiing down there. I’m waiting for this slush they call snow up here to build up.
Oh well, Angel Fire is where Kim broke her leg on her very first ski trip ever. I bet I couldn’t have gotten her to go there again. […]
U S S Arizona Memorial (National Park Service)
Pearl Harbor Raid, 7 December 1941 — Overview and Special Image Selection
Right about now you are probably saying, “Oh that’s right, today is THAT day.”. 63 years ago today was THAT day. The defining moment for our country in the 20th century. The ripples from the bombs splashing […]
Extending the .NET Loader’s search path
I was Googling for the AppDomains AppendPrivatePath method and I find Ryan Gregg’s blog. Turns out Ryan lives in Lawrence, KS. Which is the home of the University of Kansas, which is where my wife got her Doctor of Pharmacy. Rock Chalk JayHawk. Subscribed.
So the latest blogger meetup forced me to break rule # 2
Orcmid asks me in the comments to my previous post whether or not I felt the Microsoft presence was too promotional. I’m happy to say I was completely wrong about Scobles intentions. I don’t care if a person works at Microsoft […]
Natala la la la … … …
It’s nice to see that I’m not the only person that’s a big fan of the Extremem Makeover: Home Edition show.
komo news | Seattle Scientist Wins Nobel Prize
It’s been an exciting day here at the Hutch. It’s not every day you walk past a conference room and see the poster “Nobel Prize Press Conference” outside the room. Dr. Buck, along with Richard Axel of Columbia U, researched genes that code for the odor receptor proteins.Of […]
Seattle Weekly: Food: Summer Food: Masters of Barbecue by Zachary D. Lyons
Oh yeah, I love this list. Growing up near Kansas City (3 hour drive away) can turn a person into a BBQ snob. I’m not quite a snob, but I love good BBQ. My wife grew up in Houston and knows a well […]
Julie Leung ponders,
which side of Puget Sound is God’s side?
In my opinion, there is no competition for the best side of Puget sound. It’s obvious that God favors the Olympic Peninsula. It’s at least the most awe inspiring.
Me? I’m a transplant. A Wannabe. I’m one of those people that are ruining Seattle for the […]
n.b. I originally wrote this article back in June when we returned from San Francisco, but I had some issues with the image gallery
Last week Kim and I went to San Francisco for her old college friend Elizabeths (sing sing) wedding. We stayed in Milbrae, CA about a block from a BART station. We […]
Miss Washington 2004 is pre-med, boxer, violinist and more
Jebus Friest, I had two weblogger meetups in the past two days. One was the big Seattle one, the other was a smaller one that Steve Maine and I set up after Rory’s MSDN event.
The Seattle meetup came on the heels of my “Seattle Survival guide for Dave Winer” post, which gets second place for […]
